Ezekiel Machogu has been appointed as a cabinet member in the Education docket. The former Nyaribabri Masaba MP will be replacing outgoing Education CS Prof George Magoha. During his tenure, he is applauded for funding several schools to completion in his constituency. He was the best Mp on CDF management in the Nyanza region and number five in the country.
Machogu lost his gubernatorial bid under UDA ticket to Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance,Simba Arati. Machogu will become the third individual from Gusii land to hold that docket if parliament upholds his nomination. Prof Sam Ongeri served between 2007 – 2012 while Dr. Fred Matiangi served in 2015.
Machogu Ezekiel has vast experience in government. Having served in different capacities in his more than 45 years of public service. He was first appointed as a District Commissioner under the office of the president in 1976. The UoN alumni served as a District Commissioner under the Moi government between 1989 – 2008. Some of the places he worked are Nyandarua, Mombasa, and Muranga among others.
Mr. Machogu served as Senior Deputy Secretary in Harambee house until 2017.
