Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that President William Ruto personally drafted his impeachment motion and went on to bribe Members of Parliament and Senators to facilitate the impeachment motion.
The former DP in an exclusive interview with KTN claimed The President spent up to KSH 350,000 to bribe each MP and at least each senator got an upward of KSH 10 million in bribe money.
The sentiments of Gachagua which couldn’t be proved further revealed that the mover of his impeachment motion, Kibwezi West MP Mutuse was promised to be the chairperson of the Budgeting committee in Parliament.
Gachagua also distanced himself against William Ruto allegations that he demanded KSH 10 billion in order to resign. Instead , Gachagua claims to have a secret recording that has proof of Ruto offering him KSH 2 billion and walk away, an offer that Gachagua declined.
All these revelations by Gachagua couldn’t be substantiated but, for now it remains unclear if MPs and Senators were bribed to impeach Gachagua and if indeed Ruto had a secret meeting with his former deputy and offered him 2 billion shillings instead of impeaching him.
During his Mt. Kenya tour, President William Ruto said , the forner DP was impeached by MPs because of his conduct and he had nothing to do with it. As a matter of fact, Ruto tried twice to convince the legislators to do away with the impeachment motion.
