Impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s bid to create a new party will not be out of personal interest. In an effort to solidify himself as the Kikuyu spokesperson,the Gachagua led party will be for the entire Mt. Kenya region.
Speaking on Sunday during the ordination ceremony of Reverand Harrison Munyu of Redeemed Gospel Church in Naivasha, Gachagua said the rgion will have only one party which will give a clear path on which way to vote when it comes to the 2027 polls. Gachagua since his impeachment has been a harsh critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration which he helped build.
According to Gachagua, the party will be the only way to counter President William Ruto bid for a second term in office.
During the event , Gachagua told Chief Of Defence Forces General Kahariri to keep off politics and try not to defend William Ruto when he is being criticized. He told Kahariri to let the military remain a professional outfit.
“Ruto will be removed from office constitutionally during the 2027 general elections,” said Gachagua.
General Kahariri recently made remarks over the now popular slogan ‘Ruto Must Go.’
