Gen Z confirms Nane Nane Protest Still On

Written by Vincent Ombati

Gen Z protesters have vowed to hold their highly anticipated anti-government protest dubbed nane nane slated for Thursday.

Speaking during a presser in Nairobi on Tuesday,
The National Coordination Provisional Committee of the People’s Assemblies consisting of activists drawn from 48 organizations insisted on being in high spirits ready to stage a massive countrywide demonstration.

The youthful activists said that they won’t watch as their country is led by people with questionable character.

Activist Kasmuel McOure said they will be holding a peaceful protest tomorrow towards a third liberation of the country. He reveals that it will be a defining moment for demanding their rights

McOure has however warned the state over unleashing police overs in plain clothes saying they will treat them as goons who are infiltrating the peaceful protests.

“If we see an unidentified man, in civilian clothing riding in government vehicles with hidden number plates,we shall treat them as robbers,“ warned MacOure.

“We want to live in a country that gives us a chance,a country that gives us education and a country where children won’t die from mental diseases,” said MacOure.

Dandora activist Dennis Tafari has claimed the youths won’t be bought with corrupt money to cause mayhem and loot from other Kenyans.

“Youths from slums areas have been majorly hired using proceeds of corruption to counter peaceful protests,” revealed Tafari.

He has urged youths from different parts of the country to fight for their rights by showing up on the nane nane demonstration.

Gen Z had toned down their protests that were inspired by the finance bill of 2024. They were against it saying it had punitive taxes. The aftermath saw the president rejecting the entire bill and later on dismissing his entire cabinet.
