Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino has defended his decision not to impeach former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua despite being told to do so.
Babu Owino claims after listening to the former DP submission in Parliament, he was convinced he had nothing to do with the impeachment motion . Adding that he did not believe Gachagua had made any mistakes.
“I want to say it clearly. I did not vote to impeach Rigathi Gachagua. I was told to vote to impeach him. When I heard him speak, I said I wash my hands like Herod washed his hands in Christ’s crucifixion,”
Had he seen any mistake that Gachagua had made,he could have voted otherwise.
“The way he (Gachagua) spoke, genuinely speaking I did not see his mistake. I am a very just leader and if someone has made a mistake, I will point it out.”
Babu Owino and Kiharun Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro were in the spotlight on their stand in the impeachment motion of the Deputy President.
