Litein Boys in Kericho County has been closed indefinitely after students went on a rampage vandalizing property worth millions of money over the weekend when two rival teams in England,Aresenal and Manchester City were clashing at Emrirates stadium on September 21, 2025
Litein boys neighbours recount hearing unusual commotion from the school Sunday afternoon that later escalated in the night .
What followed from the students was a total disaster ,the chronology of events proves that this was a well planned strike that was executed swiftly.
The most talked about event that happened was the student access to the bursar office and getting hold of the vault box. Reliable sources have it that the vault had about KSH 1 million which they managed to break the electronic safe and share the cash among themselves .
Seems the students had more time to even milk cows, cook ugali and prepare some popcorn .
After all the chaos the boys did like slaughtering hens and riding on top of cows after milking them, they left some of them with deep wounds , with some cows being chopped off their tails.
So far 8 students who were found in possession of items believed to belong to be stolen from school have been arrested and arraigned in court. The eight face arson charges among other accusations.
Kericho Principal magistrate Fredrick Nyakundi has allowed police to detain the arrested students at Litein Police Station for 7 days as they finalize their investigations.
Unlike the news making round in social media, the strike of Litein Boys wasn’t triggered by the match between Arsenal and Man city. Reliable sources say the unrest was fuelled by the refusal of students to sit for a particular examination, APEX Examination which is done with a group of neighbouring schools.
