Looted Property In Embu Recovered As Crackdown Intensifies

Looted property in Embu County during the Gen Z protest commemorating their anniversary has been recovered. Goods ranging from electronics to clothes are some of the stolen that have been recovered.

So far 6 suspects who took advantage of the June 25, 2025 protests to destroy or steal other citizens’ property have been arrested and several recoveries made at their homesteads during an ongoing intensive crackdown on criminals.

The suspects include 22 year old Peter Mugane Kuria and 19 year old Ian Macharia Wangare.

Joseph Musila Mugo,45, who was found with a stolen washing machine, while assorted retail products stolen from a shop were found at 28 year old Maxwell Wafula Ongae’s house.

Jackson Njagi aged 29 was found with bottles of stolen whisky and a bunch of steel wire.

26 year old Brian Mbuvi was ambushed at Downtown Guest House with assorted stolen items including two desktops, a TV set, three pairs of boots, several wrist watches, jackets, pairs of new jeans trousers, extension cables among others.

The suspects will be arraignment at Embu Law Courts on Monday, June 30.
