Lawyer Morara Kebaso had a clash with Kenya State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed over allegations that President William Ruto called him.
Morara said that on the height of exposing stalled state projects launched by President William Ruto. he received a call from the head of the state.
Morara claimed the president’s handlers reached out to him and later Ruto called him.
“I didn’t call the president, he called me,” Morara said.
“Initially I had calls from people around the President. Then eventually I got a call from the President. I spoke to him very respectfully because he is our President. Whatever I was offered I refused, I was offered a state position. Being a brilliant person and a person of integrity, I believe that if I go into government I am going there to be corrupt. There is too much demand for you to steal money and give to certain people. I’ll be depressed working there, I’d rather stay at my furniture shop and do my business.”
The details of the call that lasted about five minutes was to have him join the government.
“There is a big cake in government, we can get you something to keep you busy.”
Morara during his interview on Wednesday night with Jeff Koinange at Citizen Tv, State Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed called in and wanted the lawyer to substantiate his claims.
The father of two said he is sure the president called him and there’s no need to substantiate the allegations. He claimed proving the allegations is a petty matter when there are tangible issues that the state needs to attend to.
“Am not even done, I have just started,” affirmed Kebaso.
Kebaso said Hussein Mohamed is not always aware of who the president calls and he should take the matter with his boss.
Hussein Mohamed however, said he likes what Kebaya is doing by keeping the government on check. However, anyone should be so professional in doing so.
The statehouse spokesperson believes that Ruto never called Kebaso.
Kebaso has gained massive following online after exposing how taxpayers money is being misappropriated.
