Interior Cabinet Secretary Oscar Kipchumba Murkomen has slammed the June 25th, 2025 protest led by Gen Z’s as a treasonous event that is unacceptable.
The CS said the protest was not peaceful as expected since there was a wave of violence, looting and sexual assault. Adding that there was a well paid plan on how to execute this.
“What unfounded yesterday was not a protest, it was terrorism,” the CS adding that, “it was riot, chaos and anarchy.”
He pinpointed that key government installations and offices were targeted. Revealing that a total of 88 police vehicles were destroyed, 27 national and county vehicles destroyed and 65 civilian vehicles parked in police stations burnt.
“At least 9 police stations were attacked , 5 which were torched.
During his pubic address on June 26,2025,Murkomen revealed that 5 AK-47 rifles were stolen from Dagoretti Police Station.
“The criminals were aiming at police officers on duty, they were after guns in the armouries and police uniforms.
Among the destruction that was witnessed apart from looting was torching down Kikuyu Law Courts.
Murkomen promised to go after the culprits who led more than ten people dead and above 400 people suffering multiple injuries whereby close to 300 of them were police officers.
