Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara Freed on Bond Terms

After spending a night at Pangani Police Station, Naivasha Member of Parliament Jayne Kihara has secured her freedom after being granted  a bond of KSH 50,000.

UPDATE: Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara has been released on a personal bond of Sh50,000 after appearing at a Milimani law court over incitement-related charges.

She did not take a plea as the court is yet to determine the legality of the charges brought against her on July 29th during the mention.

UPDATE: Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara is facing charges of incitement with intent to provoke a breach of the peace in connection with the Saba Saba protests.

In the Charge sheet, the lawmaker was quoted on July 8, 2025, where she accused President William Ruto of orchestrating the chaos in Naivasha during the aforementioned demonstrations.

The charge sheet also indicates that Kihara claimed goons were transported to Naivasha in an NYS bus and dropped off at Karagita. At the same time, she claimed that other rioters were dropped off in trucks in Mai Mahiu.
