Raila Odinga Joining William Ruto Broad Base Government

Plans of having Kenyan opposition Raila Odinga in the William Ruto led government is no more a secret now.

Before dissolving his cabinet,close sources to this publication revealed that government allied members of parliament had been briefed about Raila Odinga joining the government. They were tasked to convince their constituent to embrace the former Prime Minister joining the Kenya Kwanza government.

These allegations were also exposed by Saturday Standard. According to the standard paper, President William Ruto held a secret meeting with his Kenya Kwanza legislators about working  with the opposition leader Raila Odinga the government.

Ruto during his speech of dismissing his cabinet,hinted about forming a broad-based government that will not leave anyone out.

Ruto mainly targeted the met Mt Kenya leaders who have never accepted fully the Azimio La Umoja leader.

It is said President Ruto held a four-hour discussion with Central leaders, where for the first time, he expressed frustrations with his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and told them that by incorporating ODM leader Raila Odinga, the region would not lose anything in government, but that it will ensure stability in the country.

In the opposition camp there is a dilemma of other principles. Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is rallying the opposition to leave Ruto regime alone and tackle their own mess.

Narck Kenya party leader Martha Karua terms the move as a trap that Odinga should not get himself into.

Despite all this, Raila led party Orange Democratic Party (ODM) is willing for a dialogue with the government.

ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna is advocating for dialogue.

During the signing of the IEBC bill at KICC, Ruto and opposition Odinga agreed to a 6-day Multi-Sectorial forum aimed at bringing the country together.

Odinga agreed on the new found path of dialogue to bring peace in the country amidst countrywide protest led by Gen Z’s.

“I am happy to confirm that we have had consultations and have agreed that a dialogue is the way forward out of the crisis that we are facing in the country,” Raila said.

The six day Multi-Sectorial forum was scheduled to start on Monday.
