Nairobi City County Governor Johnson Sakaja is a man under siege as the members of Nairobi County Assembly are in the process of tabling a motion to impeach him
The governor is accused by the MCAs over a number of accusations including losing touch with Nairobi residents.
On Monday afternoon the MCAs held a press briefing affirming their plans of removing Sakaja from the office. The members have in the recent past met to collect the required signatures to enable them proceed with their plans.
On the flip side, former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko terms the motion as hot air and is headed nowhere . Sonko claims the orchestrators of the motion demand KSH 5 Million to quash the motion and meeting to reach such agreement is in place.
Sonko’s sentiments are backed up with blogger Cyprian Nyakunwho claims that Governor Sakaja and top leadership in Nairobi County Government are holding serious talk with former prime minister to help Sakaja survive impeachment threats.
