Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba has been expelled from the ruling party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and his position taken by Consolata Wabwire Wakwabubi From Kimilili, Bungoma.
The nominated Senator was stropped off her position for going against the party’s policies when she was part of the leaders who welcomed former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i during his homecoming.
According to UDA, Orwoba displayed disloyalty to the party and she henceforth wont enjoy any privileges which other UDA members have.
UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar announced that the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) had approved the decision following a formal disciplinary hearing.
This decision from the William Ruto led party has however cautioned Orwoba not to conduct any business representing UDA.
The party has formally written to Senate Speaker Amason Kingi to initiate the process of her removal from the house.
