A firearm that was stolen from the Dagoretti Police Post during the Gen Z protest on June 25, 2025 has been recovered.
The AK 47 rifle was uncovered from a suspects house at Njuki-Kirigu area by officers drawn from Kabete Police Station.
“An empty magazine, and a single round of 7.62mm special ammunition, all items confirmed to have been stolen from Dagoretti Police Post.”
The successful efforts were made possible after officers were tipped about the suspect who was carrying a bulging bag at Gravity Bar in Gahui area.
However efforts to arrest the individual were futile after he discovered he was being trailed.
A manhunt for the suspect is ongoing.
