Two University students were arrested on Tuesday,28th January 2025 for posing as Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) directors to solicite bribes from unsuspecting public officials in Bungoma County.
The two, 23-year-old Tobias Singila Wekesa, and 26-year-old Sharon Nanjala Anyango were nabbed after their mission to “raid“ NG-CDF offices was uncovered.
Reliable sources say Wekesa and Nanjala demanded bribes from the innocent officials failure to which they would face dire consequences.
Wekesa had introduced himself as the EACC Director based in Kakamega branch while his partner in crime claimed to be EACC Director from Nairobi.
The duo are locked up at Bungoma Central Police Station and will be arraigned in Court on Tuesday,29th January 2025.
