A tragic incident has shocked residents of Sengera in Bomachoge Chache constituency after a young man lost his life while attempting to restore electricity in the area.
According to witnesses, the man had climbed an electricity pole to address a prolonged power outage that had affected the community. Unfortunately, electricity was unexpectedly restored while he was still on top of the pole, resulting in his instant electrocution.
This is the second electricity-related fatality reported in Kisii County within a week, sparking concern among locals about safety protocols during power restoration and the need for trained professionals to handle such tasks.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
