Tanzania singer Zuchu real name Zuhura Othman Soud faced a hostile reception during her performance during the 2024 African Nation Champion League (CHAN) final match that was played at Kasarani Stadium in Kenya on Saturday, 30th August,2025.
While on stage, a section of Kenyans booed her and went on to disrupt her performance by singing the Kenyan Nation Anthem.
A section of the crowd at Kasarani booed the Tanzanian singer as she took the stage. The situation was chaotic for her because a section of the fans were heard claiming they didn’t want small artists to perform on their ground.
Though it couldn’t be quickly pinpointed why Zuchu faced that backlash, reliable sources and word on the streets allege the singer during a recent interview with a local media station vowed not to collaborate with any Kenyan artist because of the disrespects that her president Samia Suluhu has been facing lately from Kenya.
Zuchu alongside Kenyan’s Savara and Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo were the three artists who were pucked to grace the CHAN finals from the three nations which hosted the tournament.
“I’M SO Thrilled to announce that I will be headlining The AFRICAN NATION CHAMPION LEAGUE FINALS This Year, ” Zuchu posted on her social media.
For the longest time now, Kenya and Tanzania have been throwing jabs to each on various social media platforms. The online war propelled to greater heights after President Suluhu prohibited foreigners from engaging in small businesses in Tanzania.
Despite the humiliation that Zuchu faced during the final match at Kasarani between Morocco and Madagascar, Zuchu enjoys a good audience of her music from Kenya.
