In a plot to make his former boss President William Ruto a one term President,Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has unveiled his own party, Democracy for Citizens Party. The former DP says the part is built on principles which resonate with all Kenyans.

The new party now settles the debate over Gachagua’s next move politically as now he will be working in popularizing it and recruiting new members.
DCP has appointed former United Democratic Alliance party secretary General Cleophas Malala to be is interim deputy party leader. Notable figures who have been incorporated in the party’s hierarchy include former agriculture cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi who will be the National Organizing Secretary.
