Government against Nane Nane Protest, begs for more time

Written by Vincent Ombati

The government has discouraged anticipated protests tomorrow saying that some individuals normally hijack protests.

During his presser today in Nairobi, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura said Thursday is a normal working day that Kenyans should go on with their normal business.

Though he acknowledged that protest and picketing is a legal right,he urged protesters to give the government time since there are already some changes that have been made.

He has however issued a stern warning to goons claiming that they will be dealt in accordance with the law.

Mwaura said lets give the government a chance since President William Ruto has barely been in office for two years.

“The president has already done away with the contested finance bill and has created a broad base government by incorporating opposition members,”

Mwaura said the initial grievances by protesters were heard and that there will be more changes in government soon. Holding more protests will sabotage the economy.

“The protests will lead to more economic hardship hence hindering job creation opportunities,” Mwaura revealed.

Previously, the spokesperson revealed that the one month protest witnessed in the country led to a loss of 20 billion.

He believes some of the grievances by the Gen Z led demos across the nation were about oppulance and the president is on the forefront to ensure no form of corruption will be condoned going forward.
