President Ruto has issued orders to release more than 9 thousand motorcycles that are held without cases. This order is set to roll out within a week.
The President who met Boda Bodas riders drawn from various parts of the country at State House this week directed the Interior PS and IG Police to act on the order.
Ruto who rode on the wave of hustler narrative targeting mostly Boda Boda riders and mama mboga during his presidential bid in 2022 said he is working on a plan to have the price of Boda Boda reduced significantly.
He revealed plans to have Parliament scrap the taxes imposed on motorcycles.
”Motorcycles right now are not sh 190,000. They are KSH 95000. I will go to Parliament to remove taxes available on Motorcycles, which may reduce the price by a further sh 10,000.”
Ruto said he had not forgotten the people who were crucial in his campaign. Adding that his hustler agenda is still intact.
”Every government policy that this administration has rolled out has been informed by the bottom-up philosophy, first taking into account the people at the bottom of the pyramid,” Ruto said.
After the head of state meeting the Boda Boda leaders at State House, Nairobi, the team endorsed him for his second term presidential bid in 2027.
