Son explains General Francis Ogolla strange burial wish

Joel Omondi said the casket his father was lying in was merely 6,800 shillings and they would use it during the burial

General Francis Ogolla’s son Joel Omondi has explained why his father would be buried in a casket not donning his military attire.

Speaking during his father’s memorial ceremony at Ulinzi Sports Complex, Omondi said there is no reason to have but an expensive casket for his father. Adding that it won’t make any sense since his father’s spirit is no more.

Joel Omondi said the casket his father was lying in was merely 6,800 shillings and they would use it during the burial. He further revealed his father will be wrapped in a sheet and not the military regalia as expected.

All this was per General Ogolla’s wish. Omondi defended his father’s wish stating that Ogolla was following Jesus Christ’s footsteps, a man he admired most.

The general’s son said tomorrow they would remove his body from the casket, wrap him in a sheet, and lay him to the ground so that he could return to dust as quickly as possible just the way he wanted it.
