Tundu Lissu Treason Case pushed to June

Tanzanian opposition leader Tundu Lissu will remain in custody until June 2, 2025 after appearing at  Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s Court in Dar es Salaam for a mention on Monday, May, 19,2025 . Tundu is facing two charges , one of them being treason.

The Chadema Party Chairman two cases will be heard on June when the prosecution would have finished with the investigation over the treason case and assembling evidence on Lissu’s second case of publishing false information.

Lissu’s case has been followed keenly and on Monday several key events that signified the magnitude of the case we’re evident.

Outside the court,a crowd of his Chadema supporters gathered outside in solidarity.

The former Chief Justice David Maraga of Kenya flew to Tanzania to follow the court proceedings.
