Former Kenya President and Jubilee Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta alongside his deputy Fred Matiang’i started their party mobilization campaign after meeting Jubilee grassroot leaders at Thika Greens Resort in Murang’a County.
This was the first time that the two leaders were seen together almost a week after the Jubilee party unanimously appointed Matiang’i as their deputy party leader an event that also nominated him as their presidential flag bearer in the 2027 general elections.
The former President urged the party leaders to play clean politics of popularizing the party without insulting rival leaders. Adding that the Jubilee leaders should solely focus on selling their agenda to kenyans.

On his side, Matiang’i assured Uhuru that once he clinches victory, he will ensure he capitalize on the legacy that he left.
“If I am given the honour of carrying the flag of the United Opposition, and entrusted to lead this Party to electoral victory, we will form a government that builds on the foundation that you laid and restore national pride to this country and its citizens.”
