President William Ruto and Opposition leader Raila Odinga have today signed a Memorandum of Understing (MOU) that will see the two leaders work together in a broad base government formula . The two leaders agreed on a number of issues that they will work on in their new relationship.
The President during the signing of the Kenya Kwanza – Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Joint Framework at Kenyatta International Convection Centre on Friday said the new collaboration that is keen on inclusivity is viral for the growth and prosperity of Kenya. Ruto defended his new relationship with opposition claiming it breeds a new path of unity and discarding old party rivalry.
“No single leader, party or sector can transform Kenya on its own; it takes our collective effort,” said Ruto.
Opposition leader says the new agreement with the government will be critical in solving the social, economic, and political challenges facing Kenya.
“We have further acknowledged the need to set up a broad platform for collaboration and co-operation between all political forces and other stakeholders in Kenya in order to address these long-standing challenges that threaten our nationhood,” Raila said.
